Constructing a reinforced concrete rail bridge weighing 12,000 tonnes and sliding it into place across a major highway over a weekend shutdown seemed like a monumental challenge.
Our role involved detailed design for all the formwork support elements, including the major foundation raft and three large support structures for the bridge deck. Through three significant casting phases, we meticulously prepared for the bridge launching phase, where the massive structure would be moved incrementally over 400 meters to its final position within the M42 motorway.
This project truly tested our skills and resilience, but ultimately, our teamwork and expertise ensured its successful completion. We are proud to have played a part in delivering such a monumental infrastructure project, showcasing our commitment to excellence in every aspect of our work.
