Newquay Strategic Route (NSR)

The Newquay Strategic Route project, situated on Duchy of Cornwall land, presented a unique challenge for Finan Formworks Ltd. However, it proved to be an immensely rewarding endeaveour as we successfully navigated the complex phases of project delivery.

This project involved the construction of a new road link, including critical bridge infrastructure over a river and railway line. Our journey began with a year-long pre-qualification process with Corserv, the operational arm of Cornwall Council, and subsequently Cormac, the contracting subsidiary. Once pre-qualified, we had the opportunity to support several tenders, eventually securing a contract for the RC package for the bridge over the river.

Our responsibilities encompassed various critical structural elements, including Bebo Arch Strip Footings, VSL wall foundations, formwork design and installation, rebar fixing, and concrete placing. Despite the tight program schedule, we were able to deliver the project efficiently.

Working alongside MACE as the client’s consultant and Cormac Ltd as the principal contractor, we forged strong working relationships that will undoubtedly benefit us in future endeavors. The Newquay Strategic Route project exemplified our commitment to excellence and collaborative teamwork, and we are proud to have been a part of it.
